The 757 is looking forward to another stellar event this year with the TOP basketball coaches in Hampton Roads. Athletes will be driven through athletic testing, position specific drills and a basketball skills showcase in which athletes compete in position-specific rotations (passing, shooting, rebounding), 3-on-3 battles and culminating with 5-on-5 games. Each and every athlete will walk away with more knowledge, better skill and understanding for the game of basketball. They will also receive immense exposure to a large amount of college coaches.

Schedule for the Day:

  • Athletic Registration and Assessment (10:00 – 10:45pm)  (Powered by Sentara)
    • Height, Weight
    • Active Dynamic Warm up
    • 3/4 Court Sprint, Vertical Jump,185 Bench Press, NBA Shuttle Run
  • Introductions (10:50-11:05)
  • Dynamic Stretching led by Performance Coaches (11:05-11:30)
  • Performance Testing led by Performance Coaches (11:30-12:30)
  • Skills Camp (12:30-1:30)
    • Position-specific drills (including offense, defense, shooting, rebounding)
  • 5-on-5 Basketball games (1:30-2:30)
  • Awards/ All Camp Team Photos (2:30-2:45)

Athletic Assessment – Exposure:

  • All athletes — Consolidated testing results will be sent to D1, D2, D3 and JuCo coaches at regional colleges and to coaches at over 350+ colleges from across the country. (Free – included with registration)
  • Performance Tests include the following: 
Power Vertical Jump The vertical jump is a test of an athlete’s explosive leg power. There are two versions of this test performed, the standard (no step) vertical jump and a running Max Vert.
Speed ¾ Court Sprint Time to sprint over the distance of three quarters of the court is measured in seconds. Maximum running speed is important in basketball, though the acceleration or time over the first few steps is probably more important. See the details of the 3/4 sprint test procedure.
Agility Lane Agility Drill Agility is very important in basketball, and is measured using the lane agility test at the NBA camp. The Lane Agility test measures how fast a player moves laterally around the key. See more about the lane agility test.
Agility Reactive Shuttle Run A newer test which has been measured from at least 2010 is sometimes referred to as the reactive shuttle test. The players start in the middle of the key and run to each side of the key before returning to the center.
Body Size Anthropometrical measurements that are taken include height with and without shoes,weightwingspan and standing reach.

Skills Camp – Exposure:

DI, DII, DIII and JuCo coaches will be invited to attend the camp portion of the Best of the 757 will provide complete event coverage and profile the All Camp Team and top performers

$100 — including BOT757 event shirts and results sent to college coaches
